Parenting a child who’s struggling can be incredibly tough.

You’ve come to the right place.

You’re exhausted. Overwhelmed. Worried. Maybe you feel isolated and ashamed because traditional parenting approaches aren’t working.

THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE.

I teach parents to support their kids in more calm, confident, and connected ways. And I help kids grow their social, emotional, and academic skills.

Lagging executive function (EF) skills are often at the root of many struggles with learning and behavior.

You didn’t expect this – that’s ok.

The families that I work with have similar stories. You tell me that your child is extraordinary - bright, creative, curious, kind, and passionate. And, that there’s ongoing intensity within your home. Your child often:

  • Argues

  • Lacks inhibition

  • Is easily distracted

  • Struggles to follow directions

  • Has low frustration tolerance

  • Has difficulty maintaining friendships

  • Procrastinates on homework and projects

You and your child may have participated in an assessment process to identify:

  • ADHD

  • Autism

  • Anxiety

  • Giftedness

  • Twice exceptionality (2e)

  • Another learning difference (dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia)

About Me

Rachel Poirier, M.Ed., BCBA is a parent coach and school consultant with expertise in executive functioning. Her passion for working with families was born out of her two-decades long career in education, teaching and training teachers both in the US and internationally, and her own unexpected parenting path. She is committed to supporting children and their families with research-driven practices, and is bravely and intentionally parenting a remarkable tween.

What would you do if you weren’t afraid?

I’m here for families who are ready to learn, to do the hard work, and to get unstuck. Changing patterns and shifting behavior is not easy, it takes time…and, it’s worth it. As a mother on a parallel path, I understand the nuances and complexities of our stories.

Imagine a future in which you parent from a place of more confidence, joy, and intentionality. A future in which you have a clear picture of what success looks and feels like for your family, and a roadmap of how to build skills in a supportive way so that you can make that picture a reality.
